Let , the common ratio be x

Then , The present age of Vijay is 2x

And , the present age of Gautam is 3x

5 Years hence , the age of Vijay will be ( 2x + 5 )

And , the age of Gautam will be ( 3x + 5 )

Therefore ,

( 2x + 5 ) / ( 3x + 5 ) = 3 / 4

3 ( 3x + 5 ) = 4 ( 2x + 5 )

9x + 15 = 8x + 20

9x - 8x = 20 - 15

x = 5

•°• The present age of Vijay is ( 2x ) = 2 × 5 = 10 years

And , the present age of Gautam is ( 3x ) = 3 × 5 = 15 years
