SOLUTION:-

Given:

The present ages of A & B are in the ratio of 4:5. After 10 years ago, their ages were in the ratio 3:4.

To find:

What are their present ages.

Solution:

Let the present age of A= 4x

Let the present age of B= 5x

According to the question:

 \frac{4x - 10}{5x - 10} = \frac{3}{4} \\ (cross \: multiplication) \\ = > 16x - 40 = 15x - 30 \\ \\ = > 16x - 15x = - 30 + 40 \\ \\ = > x = 10

Now,

⚫Present age of A is 4x = 4×10

=) 40 years

⚫Present age of B is 5x, 5×10

=) 50 years

Hope it helps ☺️
