Let the present age of husband be x and of wife be y..
x/y= 4/3
x=4y/3----------(1)

x=10 + y -------------(2)
Put eq.(1) into eq. (2)
4y/3=10 + y
4y = 30+ 3y
4y - 3y =30
y = 30 years
Put y value in eq. (1)
x =4 × 30/3
x=40years
Hence, the present age of husband is 40 years and of wife is 30 years ..
