The present ages of ramesh and seema are in the ratio 7:5. Six years hence, their ages will be in the ratio 5:4. Find their present ages

Let the age of seema be 5x

6 years hence
Let the age of Ramesh be 7x+6
Let the age of seema be 5x+6

New ratio = 5:4
7x+6/5x+6=5/4
4(7x+6) = 5(5x+6) [By cross multiplying]
28x+24=25x+30
28x-25x=30-24
3x = 6
x = 6/3
x = 2

so, The present ages of ramesh =7x=7x2=14yrs

The present age of seema = 5x=5x2= 10yrs
