Here is your answer... ⬇⬇

Given :- Present age of Three person is in proportion 4:7:9
Eight years ago their sum of ages were 56.

To Find :- Their present ages.

Solution :- let the age of 1st 2nd and 3rd person be x.

As given proportion...

Age of 1st person = 4x
Age of 2nd person = 7x
Age of 3rd person = 9x

Now, eight years ago..,

Age of 1st person 8 years ago = 4x - 8 -- ( 1 )
Age of 2nd person 8 years ago = 7y - 8 -- ( 2 )
Age of 3rd person 8 years ago = 9z - 8 -- ( 3 )

Add all this we get 56..

( 4x - 8 ) + ( 7x - 8 ) + ( 9x - 8 ) = 56
4x - 8 + 7x - 8 + 9x - 8 = 56
20x - 16 - 8 = 56
20x - 24 = 56
20x = 56 + 24
20x = 80
x = 80/20
x = 4

Put value of ( x ) in eq. ( 1 ) ( 2 ) ( 3 )..,

Age of 1st person = 4( 4 ) = 16 years
Age of 2nd person = 7( 4 ) = 28 years
Age of 3rd person = 9( 4 ) = 36 years

HOPE IT HELPS....

THANKS ^-^
