hello Devesh

The present population = 15625
Rate of Increase = 4%
What in 3rd year = ?

As we can see it's an AP

Where first term a = 15625
Common difference d = 15625 × 4/100 = 625

Hence the population is increasing by 625 every year,

Now population in 3rd year

for this we will calculate 3rd term of AP

that is

 a_{n} = a + (n - 1)d \\ a_{3} = 15625 + 2(625) \\ = 16875

Hence the population will be 16875

hope it helps
