Given:

Present population (P) = 15625

Rate of increase (r) = 4% p.a.

Period (n) = 3 years

We know that:

Population after 3 years = \sf{P(\frac{1+r}{100})^n}

Substituting the values:

\sf{= 15625(\frac{1+4}{100})^3}

By further calculation:

\tt{= 15625×\frac{26}{25}×\frac{26}{25}×\frac{26}{25}}

= \tt{17576}

∴ the increase = \tt{17576−15625=1951}

{:⇒}\sf{1951~will~ be ~the ~increase ~in ~population ~in ~next~ 3~ years.}
