present population of town = 550000
population increase every year = 4%
population after 1 year = 4% of 550000
=> 4/100×550000
=> 22000
new number of population = 550000+22000
=> 572000
population after 2 years = 4% of 572000
=> 4/100×572000
=> 22880
new number of population = 572000+22880
=> 594880
population after 3 years = 4% of 594880
=> 4/100×594880
=> 23795.2
new number of population = 594880+23795.2
=> 618675.2
hence the required population is 618675.2 .
