Solutions :-

Present ratio of ages of A and B = 4 : 5
Ratio was 11 : 16

Let the present age of A be 4x
And age of B be 5x

A/q

 = > \frac{4 x - 18}{5x - 18} = \frac{11}{16} \\ \\ = > 16(4 x - 18) = 11(5x - 18) \\ \\ = > 64x - 288 = 55x - 198 \\ \\ = > 64x - 55x = - 198 + 288 \\ \\ = > 9x = 90 \\ \\ = > x = \frac{90}{9} = 10

Therefore,

Age of A = 4x = 4 × 10 = 40 years
Age of B = 5x = 5 × 10 = 50 years

Sum of their present ages = (40 + 50) years = 90 years

Hence,
A) 90 years is the required answer
