The present sum of the ages of the two girl: is 88. Mary is twice as old as Annie was when Mary was half as old as Annie will be when she is three times as old as Mary was when she was three times as old as Annie.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe this is an impossible question. If Mary IS twice as old as Ana WAS, was being past tense, then in that same past Mary couldn't have been as old as Ana IS now, being present tense. I really looked for an aswer for a while, you got me for at least 3 minutes while my brain tried to implode lol! Good question.
