The pressure at a point just below the water surface is SMALLER than the pressure at a deeper point below the surface.

Pressure inside a liquid = (density of the liquid × acceleration due to gravity of the planet × depth from the surface) + atmospheric pressure

Assuming Earth and water

Pressure = (997 kg/m^3 × 9.8 m/s^2 × d) + 101325 Pa

Pressure = (9770.6×d) + 101325 Pa
