Answer ⇒ Option (b). Elevator only.

Explanation ⇒ Let us deal with both the cases separately.

Case I (Elevator) ⇒ Let there are two points A and B is horizontal plane of vessel at an height of h from top of vessel in accelerating elevator.

When elevator is moving upward, then, net acceleration will be 'a + g'

Thus, Pa = P₀ + hρ (a + g)

Similarly, Pb = P₀ + hρ (a + g)

Thus, we can see that pa = Pb.

Hence, given statement of question is valid in elevator.

Case II (Car) ⇒  Let there are two points A and B is horizontal plane of vessel at an height of h from top of vessel in accelerating car.

Let acceleration of car be 'a'. This means, pseudo force will be acting opp.

We can write,

Pa × A + ma = Pb × A, where A is the imaginary cross-section of imaginary cylinder which we have drawn in vessel.

(Pb - Pa)A = ma

Pb - Pa = ρha

Now, we can say that ρ ≠ h ≠ a ≠ 0

Thus, Pb ≠ Pa

Hence, given statement will not be valid in car accelerating horizontally.

Hope it helps.

When the liquid is compressed horizontally, the two places in a certain horizontal line do not apply equal pressure.

Explanation:

When the liquid is compressed horizontally, the two places in a certain horizontal line do not apply equal pressure. The movement will be vertical.

therefore, option (b) is correct.

Pressure:- Pressure is known as the exertion of physical force on an object. That force applied to the objects is perpendicular to the surface per unit area.

Acceleration:- Acceleration is a quantity of vectors which is defined as the rate at which an object changes its velocity. An object accelerates when its velocity is changing.
