The pressure inside a soap bubble of radius 1cm balances 1.4mm column of oil, of specific gravity 0.80. Calculate the surface tension of the soap solution.

P=4T/R

T is the surface tension of the given solution

Given,

P=hdg=1.4×10*-3 ×0.8×10=11.2×10*-3

Now using the above formula

11.2×10*-3=4T/1×10*-2

T=1.12/4=0.28 N/m
