Answer:

  • The value of Y = 2.

Explanation:

Given:-

  • Pressure of gas ,P = 300Pa
  • Area of Piston ,A = 0.5m²

To Find:-

  • Force exerted on the Piston ,F

Solution:-

According to the Question

It is given that pressure of a gas contained in a cylinder with a movable piston is 300 Pa. The area of the piston is 0.5 m².

We have to calculate the the force exerted on the Piston .

As we know the relationship between Force , Area & Pressure.

  • P = F/A

Where,

  • P denote Pressure
  • F denote Force
  • A denote area

Putting the value we get

→ 300 = F/0.5

→ F = 300×0.5

→ F = 150 N

Since, the force is 150 newton.

as

→ 75 × Y = 150

→ Y = 150/75

→ Y = 2

  • So the value of y = 2

Answer:-

  • Pressure=300Pa
  • Area=0.5m^2
  • Force=(75×Y)N

We have to find y.

\boxed{\sf Pressure=\dfrac{Force}{Area}}

\\ \sf \longmapsto Force=Pressure\times Area

\\ \sf \longmapsto 75\times Y=300\times 0.5

\\ \sf \longmapsto 75Y=150

\\ \sf \longmapsto Y=\dfrac{150}{75}

\\ \sf \longmapsto Y=2

Hence value of Y is 2.
