The pressure of the Earth’s atmosphere at sea level is about 100000 Pa. Calculate the force
due to the weight of the air pressing down on a piece of paper 20cm X 30cm lying flat on a
table at sea level.

F = PA

A = 600cm² = 600 x 10^-4 m²

F = 100000 x 600 x 10^-4

= 6 x 10³ N

Answer:

Therefore, area in terms of metres would be=

20/100×30/100(as metres=1/100)

=>0.06m² right,

Now from relation: P=F/A

100000=F/0.06

= 100000×0.06=6000N
