Given : The pressure P'on an object is given as the force applied on the oder per unit area

Area = 4 sq m

To Find : Express this relation as a linear equation in two variables taking area as a constant

Draw a graph

Solution:

Pressure = Force / Area

Area = 4 Sq m Constant

=> Pressure = Force/ 4

Pressure = x

Force =  y

=> x = y/4

=> y = 4x

or

Pressure = y

Force = x

=> y = x/4

=> y = (1/4)x
