3x + 4y = 75---(1)

4x + 7y = 83---(2)

from eq (1),

x = 75-4y/3

substitute this value in eq (2)

4(75-4y/3) + 7y = 83

300-16y/3 + 7y

300-16y/3 + 21y/3 = 83 (using LCM)

300+5y/3 = 83

300+5y = 249

-51 = -5y

  y = 51/5

     = Rs 10.2

x= 75-4y/3

 = 75-40.8/3

 = 34.2/3
