Answer:

\huge \star \underline\star {Given}

  • 6 chocolates and 3 biscuits cost ₹ 120
  • 10 chocolates and 3 biscuits cost ₹ 186

\huge \star \underline\star {To find}

  • Price of chocolate and biscuit

\huge \star \underline\star {</strong><strong>Solu</strong><strong>tion</strong><strong>}

  • Let the number of chocolate be x
  • Let the number of biscuit be y

So now ,

=>

6x + 3y  = 120

=>

2x + y = 40

so, this is equation------------1

now equation 2,

10x + 3y = 186

Now by taking equation (1)

=>

2x + y = 40

=>

y = 40 - 2x

this is equation (3)

Now, by substitution method,

putting the value of y in equation (2) from equation (3)

=> 10x +3y =186

=> 10x + 3 (40-2x ) =186

=> 10x +120 - 6x = 186

=> 10x -6 x = 186 - 120

=> 4x = 186 - 120

=> 4x = 66

=> x = 16.5

( How is is 16.5 ? ......it is because x = 4/ 66 ...by dividing 4/66 it is 16.5 )

Now ,

putting the value of x in equation (3)

=> y = 40-2x

=> y = 40-2 ( 16.5)

( x = 16.5 so we put it 16.5)

=> y = 40 - 33

=> y = 7

Therefore ,

  • the price of chocolate is 16.5
  • the price of biscuit is 7
