Answer:

let price of 1 chair be x

and price of 1 table be y

by first condition

8x=3y

8x-3y=0-----------------eqn(1)

by second condition

12x+5y=1520----------eqn(2)

multiply eqn (1) by 3 and eqn (2) by 2 we get

24x-9y=0------------------eqn(3)

24x+10y=3040----------eqn(4)

subtract eqn(3) and (4)

24x-9y =0

24x+10y=3040

- - - (signs changes after subtraction) 0x-19y=-3040

-19y=-3040

minus sign gets canceled

19y=3040

y=3040divided by 19

y= 160

put value of y in eqn(1)

8x-3y=0

8x-3(160)=0

8x-480=0

8x=480

x=480divided by 8

x=60

total price of 10 chairs and 5 tables

=10x+5y

substituting value of x and y

=10(60)+5(160)

=600+800

=1200

therefore total price of 10 chairs and 5 tables = Rs. 1200
