Solution :-

Given :
The price of a bicycle is reduced by 20%.
The reduced price is ₹40,000.

Let the original price of bicycle be x

According to the question,

Original price = (Reduced price × 100)/(100 - 20%)
=> x = (40000 × 100)/(100 - 20)
=> x = 4000000/80 = 50000

Hence,
Original price = ₹ 50,000

Hey!

Let the original price be X

Reduced price= Rs.40,000

According to question,

X = (40000×100)/ (100-20)

=40000000/80

=50000

So original price= Rs.50,000
