Answer :

Pen = 6

Book = 10

Pencil = 4

Solution:

Let

Price of pen = x

Price of book = x + 4

Price of pencil = x - 2

5(x + 4) + 2(x) + 3 (x - 2) = 74

5x + 20 + 2x + 3x - 6 = 74

10x + 14 = 74

10x = 74 - 14

10x = 60

X = 6

Put all the values in above equations

Pen = 6

Book = 10

Pencil = 4

Answer:

let pens be=2x

let books = 4+2x*5

let pencil=2-2x*3

cost of all items=74rupees

price of each = 2x+4+2x*5+2-2x*3=74

=2x+20+10x+6-6x=74

,

2x+10x-6x+20+6=74

12x-6x+26=74

6x+26=74

6x=74-26=48

x=48/6=8

The cost of each item is 8 rupees
