Answer:

a lady should reduce her consumption by 9.09 %

Step-by-step explanation:

Let say Price of Commodity = P  Rs per  kg

Consumption by Lady  = C kg

Total Expenditure  =  Price of Commodity * Consumption by Lady

= PC   Rs

price of a commodity rose by 10%

=> New Price = P + (10/100)P = 1.1P  Rs per kg

Consumption Now =  PC/(1.1P)  =  C/1.1  kg

Reduction in Consumption =  C - C/1.1   =  0.1C/1.1    = C/11

% Reduction in consumption = ((C/11)/C ) * 100

= 9.09 %

a lady should reduce her consumption by 9.09 %
