Question : he price of a computer and television set is in the ratio of5:2. If a computer costs Rs.21000 more than the television set,then what is the price of the television set?

Step-by-step explanation:

From the above question,

They have given :

Ratio = 5:2

TV : Computer = 2:5

Computer = 5 x TV

TV + 21000 = 5 x TV

let the price of computer be 5x

let the price of TV be 2x

   Equation  =  5x-2x

                    = 21000

                   5x - 2x = 7x

                   3x = 21000

                     x = 21000÷3

                     x = 7000

Price of computer = 5x

Price of computer= 5 multiplied by 7000

Price of computer= 35000

Price of TV = 2x

Price of TV = 2 multiplied by 7000

Price of TV = 14000

Check : 35000 - 14000 = 21000

TV = 21000/3

TV = 7000

TV = 7000 + 6000

TV = 12600

Hence, the price of the television set is 12,600
