the price of a diamond ifs directly proportional to the square of its weight. the diamond broke in four parts in such a way that weights of those part were in the ratio of 1:2:3:4. if the total price of the diamond decreased by Rs. 70,000, then what was the price of original diamond?

8000=k(10) /2

k= 100/8000 =80

Diamond was broke into two pieces = 3x+2x=10,

5x=10⇒x=2

Ist part: 3x=6

IInd part: 2x=4

Ist part; cost⇒80×36=2880

IInd part; cost⇒80×16=1280

Total cost = 2880+1280=4160

So loss = 8000−4160=3840....
