Question

The price of a food processor inclusive of tax of 5% is 6930. If the tax is increased to 8%, how much more does the customer pay for it?

Given

  • Inclusive tax of 5% is 6930

Find

If the tax is increased to 8%, How much mor does the customer need to pay for it ?

Solution

Let the marked price = Rs x

The price of t.v inclusive of tax is 6930

rate of sales tax is 5%

then,

5% of x + x = 6930

5x/100 + x = 6930

105x/100 = 6930

x = 6930 × 100/105 = 6600

x = 6600

If the sales tax increased by 8%

So,

8% of 6600 = 8 × 6600/100 = 528

New amount inclusive of tax = 6600 + 528= 7128

So the extra amount which customer will pay

7120 - 6930

x =190

Hence, The extra amount which customer will pay is Rs 190

More

Inclusive tax

The price charged for good or services or both includes separately

Inclusive GST

GST amount refers to total value of the product after including the GST amount in the original value of the product
