(a) THE EQUATION WILL BE 2X+500=Y(Y IS DISCTIONARY)

(b)IF THE PRICE OF NOVEL IS 1400 THEN 1400 / 2 - 500

= 700 - 500 = 200

ANSWERS

(a)answer is 2x+500=y

Answer:

Answer-:

If the total cost of three books and four pens are Rs. 520 and the cost of one book is twice as much as a pen, what is the cost of one pen ?

3 books + 4 pens = 520

therefore (3 x 2 pens) + 4 pens = 520

therefore 6 pens + 4 pens = 520

therefore 10 pens = 520

therefore 1 pen = 520 divided by 10 = 52

It's the same method, except I don't use "x" and "y"!

Thanks for the A2A.
