and,

According to question,

x + y = 10 _____(1)

x + 5y = 22 ____(2)

Subtracting equations

-4y = -12

y = -12/-4

y = 3

Putting value of y in eq. 1

x + y = 10

x + 3 = 10

x = 10 - 3

x = 7

Price of Pen = ₹x = ₹7

Price of Pencil = ₹y = ₹3
