Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

let price of pen be x

so price of book will be x+4

and price of pecil will be x-2

ATQ

5 (x+4)+2x+3 (x-2)=74

5x+20+2x+3x-6=74

5x+5x+14=74

10x+14=74

10x=74-14

x=6

so,cost of pen=6

cost of pencil=6-2=4

cost of book=6+4=10

Answer:

1 Book cost 18 rupees

1 pencil cost 4 rupees

1 pen cost 10 rupees

Step-by-step explanation:

let Book be the cost M

cost of pen is M-8

cost of pencil is M-8-(6)

=M-14

Total cost of 2books, 3 pens, 1 pencil is 70 rupees

Now,

Add them

2(M)+3(M-8)+(M-14) = 70

2M+3M-24+M-14 = 70

6M-38 = 70

6M = 70+38

M = 108÷6

M=18

Each book cost M = 18 rupees

Each pen cost M-8 = 18-8 = 10 rupees

Each pencil cost M-14 = 18-14 = 4 rupees

VERIFICATION :

2 books cost 2×18 = 36

3 pens cost 3×10 = 30

1 pencil cost 1×4 = 4

36+30+4=70 rupees
