ANSWER:

Given:

The price of a shirt is reduced by 12%

in a discount sale. If its present Price is Rs.1188.

To find:

Find the original price.

Solution:

Let the original price be x.

Discount= 100- 12=88.

We know that the formula of discount%

 =  >x  \times  ( \frac{100 -reduce \% }{100})  = present \: price \\  \\  =  >x ( \frac{100 - 12\%}{100})  =  1188 \\  \\  =  >  \frac{88x}{100}     =  1188    \\  \\  =  > 88x = 118800 \\  \\   =  >  x =  \frac{118800}{88}  \\  \\  =  > x = Rs.1350

Hence,

The original price is Rs.1350.

Hope it helps ☺️
