15 %

Given:

Price of the Sweater in the starting(Cost Price) = ₹ 960

Price of the Sweater after slashing(Selling Price)  = ₹ 816

To Find:

Rate of discount which is given by him.

Calculating:

First we have to find the amount that has been discounted.

For that we use the Formula:

= Cost Price - Selling Price

Substituting values that are known to us in this formula we get:

=> 960 - 816

=> ₹ 144

Therefore, the discounted price is ₹ 144.

Now, We have to calculate the discount percentage.

To calculate the discount percentage we use the formula:

Discount Percentage = Discounted Price / Cost Price x 100

Substituting all the values which we know into this equation we get:

= 144/960 x 100

= 0.15 x 100

= 15 %

Therefore, the rate of discount that is given to him is 15 %.
