Question :-

The price of a T.V. set inclusive of Sales Tax of 9% is Rs. 13,407. Find its marked price. If Sales Tax is increased to 13%, how much more does the customer has to pay for the T.V.?

let the marked price is Rs. x

x+9 % of x = 13407

x +  \frac{10}{9} = 13407

 \frac{100}{109x} = 13407

⇒x =  \frac{13407×100}{109x}

⇒x = Rs.12300

If the sales tax is increased 13% then

If the sales tax is increased 13% thenThe price of the T.V=12300+13% of 12300.

12300 +  \frac{13}{100} × 12300.

⇒12300 + 1599 = Rs.13899

Customer pay = 13899−13407 = Rs.492.
