Sp = cp + sales tax
Let cp be x,
then sales tax = 9%*cp = 0.09*x
Sp = 13407 as given
So when we put these values in the above formula, we get,
13407 = x + 0.09*x
13407 = 1.09*x
=> x = 13407/1.09 = 12300
Hence the cp is 12300
Now if sales tax becomes 13% of cp, then new selling price will be,
Sp' = x + 0.13*x
Sp' = 1.13*x
Sp'= 1.13*(12300)
=> sp' = 13899
Extra amount the customer has to pay = sp' - sp = 13899 - 13407 = 492 rs.
