Answer:

original price of watch = rs.11250

price after discount = 11250-20%11250

=11250-2250

=9000

20 % profit was made

let the cost price be x

profit = s.p -c.p

20%x = 9000 - x

x/5 =9000 -x

x/5 + x =9000

6x/5 =9000

6x = 45000

x = 7300

c.p =x = 7300

profit = 20%7300

= 1460

new profit = 3%7300

=219

decrease in discount = 219 x 100/7300

=3%

in order to have a profit of 3% more decrease the discount by 3%.
