TO DETERMINE

The original price.

EVALUATION

Let original price = Rs 100x

Since the price of an almirah is increased by 8%

Present price

= 100x + 8x

= 108x

So by the given condition

108x = 1080

⇒ x = 100

Hence the original price

= Rs 100x

= Rs ( 100 × 10 )

= Rs 1000
