the price of an article increased by 10% every year. if the difference between the prices at the end of 3rd year and 4th year was rs 423.5. what was the price at the end of second year?

Let pp be the price of the article. Given the information in question, the difference between the number of articles that can be bought with Rs. 440440 when the price is pp and when the price is 1.1p1.1p is equal to

440p−4401.1p=4440p−4401.1p=4

This gives us p=10p=10.
