Answer:

ʜᴇʀᴇ ɪs ʏᴏᴜʀ ᴀɴsᴡᴇʀ ⬇️

Step-by-step explanation:

ᴘʀɪᴄᴇ ᴏғ ᴀɴ ᴀʀᴛɪᴄʟᴇ = ₹ 8,250

ʀᴀᴛᴇ ᴏғ sᴀʟᴇs ᴛᴀx = 10%

ʟᴇᴛ ᴛʜᴇ ʟɪsᴛ ᴘʀɪᴄᴇ = x

∴ sᴀʟᴇs ᴛᴀx = x × (10/100) = x/10

sᴀʟᴇs ᴘʀɪᴄᴇ = x + (x/10) = 11x/10

∴ 11x/10 = 8250

x = (8250 × 10)/11 = 7,500

∴ ʟɪsᴛ ᴘʀɪᴄᴇ = ₹ 7, 500

(ɪ) ʀᴀᴛᴇ ᴏғ sᴀʟᴇs ᴛᴀx = 15%

∴ sᴀʟᴇ ᴘʀɪᴄᴇ = ₹ 7,500 ((100 + 15)/100)

= ₹ 7500 × (115/100) = ₹ 8,625

∴ ᴄᴜsᴛᴏᴍᴇʀ ᴡɪʟʟ ᴘᴀʏ ᴍᴏʀᴇ.

ʜᴇɴᴄᴇ ɪɴᴄʀᴇᴀsᴇ = 8,625 – 8, 250 = ₹ 375

(ɪɪ) ʀᴀᴛᴇ ᴏғ sᴀʟᴇs ᴛᴀx = 6%

∴ sᴀʟᴇ ᴘʀɪᴄᴇ = ₹7,500 ((100 + 6)/100)

= ₹ 7,500 × (106/100) = ₹7,950

∴ ᴛʜᴇ ᴄᴜsᴛᴏᴍᴇʀ ᴡɪʟʟ ᴘᴀʏ ʟᴇss ᴛʜᴇ ᴀᴍᴏᴜɴᴛ ᴏғ

₹ 8,250 - ₹7,950 = ₹300

(ɪɪɪ) ʀᴀᴛᴇ ᴏғ sᴀʟᴇs ᴛᴀx = (10 + 2) % = 12%

∴ sᴀʟᴇ ᴘʀɪᴄᴇ = ₹ 7, 500 × ((100 + 12)/100)

= ₹ 7,500 × (112/100) = ₹ 8400

∴ ᴛʜᴇ ᴄᴜsᴛᴏᴍᴇʀ ᴡɪʟʟ ʜᴀᴠᴇ ᴛᴏ ᴘᴀʏ ᴍᴏʀᴇ ᴛʜᴇ ᴀᴍᴏᴜɴᴛ ᴏғ ₹8400 – ₹ 8250

= ₹ 150

(ɪᴠ) ʀᴀᴛᴇ ᴏғ sᴀʟᴇs ᴛᴀx = 10 – 3 = 7%

∴ sᴀʟᴇ ᴘʀɪᴄᴇ = ₹ 7500 × ((100 + 7)/100)

= ₹ 7,500 × (107/100) = ₹8,025

∴ ᴛʜᴇ ᴄᴜsᴛᴏᴍᴇʀ ᴡɪʟʟ ʜᴀᴠᴇ ᴛᴏ ᴘᴀʏ ʟᴇss

= ₹ 8.250 - ₹ 8,025 = ₹225

ANSWER:

Price of an article = ₹ 8,250

Rate of Sales Tax = 10%

Let the list price = x

∴ Sales Tax = x × (10/100) = x/10

Sales price = x + (x/10) = 11x/10

∴ 11x/10 = 8250

X = (8250 × 10)/11 = 7,500

∴ List price = ₹ 7, 500

(i) Rate of sales tax = 15%

∴ Sale price = ₹ 7,500 ((100 + 15)/100)

= ₹ 7500 × (115/100) = ₹ 8,625

∴ Customer will pay more.

Hence increase = 8,625 – 8, 250 = ₹ 375

(ii) Rate of sales Tax = 6%

∴ Sale price = ₹7,500 ((100 + 6)/100)

= ₹ 7,500 × (106/100) = ₹7,950

∴ The customer will pay less the amount of

₹ 8,250 - ₹7,950 = ₹300

(iii) Rate of sales tax = (10 + 2) % = 12%

∴ Sale price = ₹ 7, 500 × ((100 + 12)/100)

= ₹ 7,500 × (112/100) = ₹ 8400

∴ The customer will have to pay more the amount of ₹8400 – ₹ 8250

= ₹ 150

(iv) Rate of sales Tax = 10 – 3 = 7%

∴ Sale price = ₹ 7500 × ((100 + 7)/100)

= ₹ 7,500 × (107/100) = ₹8,025

∴ The customer will have to pay less

= ₹ 8.250 - ₹ 8,025 = ₹225
