Solution :-

Let us assume that, the initial price of Hand-sanitizer is Rs. 100x .

So,

→ Price increased by = 10%

then,

→ New price = 110% of initial price = (110 * 100x)/100 = Rs. 110x

now,

→ New price of Hand-sanitizer = Rs. 110x

agin,

→ Price Increased by = Rs. 120

then,

→ New price = Rs.(110x + 120)

finally,

→ New price of Hand-sanitizer = Rs.(110x + 120)

again,

→ Price Increased by = 12%

then,

→ Final price = 112% of Rs.(110x + 120)

A/q,

→ (112/100)(110x + 120) = 1120

→ 112(110x + 120) = 1120 * 100

→ 110x + 120 = 1000

→ 110x = 1000 - 120

→ 110x = 880

→ x = 8

therefore,

→ Initial price of Hand-sanitizer = 100x = 100 * 8 = Rs.800 .

→ Final price of Hand-sanitizer = Rs.1120

So,

→ Increment in the price of Hand-sanitizer = 1120 - 800 = Rs.320

hence,

→ Required % increment = (320 * 100)/800 = 40% (Ans.) (C)

Hence, the total percent increment in the price of sanitizer is equal to 40% .
