Let his old expenses on petrol= X
Now his new expenses on petrol= X+10% of X
= 11X/10
But Reduction in consumption.. so the expenses should remain same= 11X/10-X
= X/10
So Reduction Percentage= (X-10)/ 11X/10 *100
= 100/11
=9.111111% or 9 1/11
