Answer:
When the price of potatoes is reduced by 20% there must be saving of 20% on Rs. 80 i.e. of Rs. 16.
But, instead of saving Rs. 16, I purchased 2 kg potatoes.
∴ Reduced price of potatoes =216=Rs.8 per kg.
Now, let
Original price of potatoes be Rs. x.
Reduced price Original Price = R.P. : O.P.
(R.P) : (O.P.)
80 : 100 = 8 : x
∴x=80100×8=Rs.10
