let the price be 100
the price of rice increase by 15%of 100= 15/100×100=15
the price of rice increases by 15=100+15=115
and then reduces by thirty paisa=115-0.30=114.70

13% or Rs. 1.95 was the net increase.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given that,

Price of rice = Rs. 15

Percent increase = 15%

so,

15% of 15

= 15/100 * 15

= Rs. 2.25

Price after this increase = Rs. 15 + Rs. 2.25

= Rs. 17.25

Then,

The price reduces by = 30 paise

Price after this reduction = Rs. 17.25 - 30

= Rs. 16.95

Thus,

Net increase = Final price - Original price

= Rs. 16.95 - Rs.15

= Rs. 1.95

Percent of net increase = net increase/original price * 100

= 1.95/15 * 100

= 13%
