It is given that the price of salt is reduced by 50%. So we have, P2 = 0.50*P1 …… (1)

It is given that Aayush ends up increasing his expenditure on salt by 50%. So we have,

W2*P2 = W1*P1(1 + 0.50) = 1.5*W1*P1 …… (2)

From (2) and (1) we get, W2*(0.5*P1) = 1.5*W1*P1 or W2 = (1.5/0.5)*W1 = 3*W1

= [(W2 - W1)/W1]*100 = [(3*W1 - W1)/W1]*100 = 200%
