Answer: Assume price of sugar to be 100 (it doesn’t matter if we take anything as we are dealing with percentage only)

40/100*100= 40 (decrease)

100-40=60₹

Now reduce by 50%

50/100 * 60= 35₹

140-35=105₹

5/100*100= 5% increase
