The price of sugar was ₹10 per kg. If it increases first by 20% and then by 25% , What is the new cost of sugar

Answer:-

 \small \bf \underline{Given:}

Price of sugar was 10 per kg

★★ First the price of the sugar increases by 20% and then by 25%

 \small \bf \underline{To  \: find:}

We need to find the new cost of sugar

 \small \bf \underline{Solution:}

Step one :-

First the price increased by 20%

Therefore, The new increased price of the sugar = (20% of ₹10) + ₹10

 \small \bf =  (\frac{20}{100}  \times 10) + 10

 \bf \small =( 2 \times 1) = 10

 \bf \small =₹ 12

So, the new increased price of sugar = ₹12

Step two :-

Further it is said that the price again increased by 25%

Therefore, Final increased price = (25% of ₹12) + ₹12

 \bf \small = ( \frac{25}{100}  \times 12) + 12

 \bf \small =  (\frac{1}{4}  \times 12) + 12

 \bf \small = 3 + 12

 \bf \small =₹ 15

Answer : The new cost of sugar = 15/kg

  • The price of sugar was ₹10 per kg. If it increases first by 20% and then by 25% , What is the new cost of sugar

Answer:-

\large \bf \underline{Given:}

  • Price of sugar was ₹10 per kg
  • First the price of the sugar increases by 20% and then by 25%

\large\bf \underline{To \: find:}

  • To find the new cost of sugar when it is increased twice.

\large\bf \underline{Solution:}

The price of sugar is ₹ 10 per kg.

Increase by 20% = 20% of 10

\large \bf = (\frac{20}{100} \times 10)

= 2.

So, new price of sugar is ₹10 + ₹2 = ₹12 per kg

Further more, the price again increased by 25%

Increase by 25% = 25% of 12

\large \bf = (\frac{25}{100} \times 12)

= 3

Therefore, Final increased price = ₹12 + ₹3 = ₹15

\large \bf \underline{The new cost of sugar = ₹15/kg}
