Let prime cost = raw material + 2(wages)

Cost=18,,so really material = 18/3 =6

Hence wages = 12.

Now new raw material = 6*7/3 = 14

And new wages = 12*9/ 4= 27

Hence new c.p = 14 + 27 = 41

Solution 2:

Let the original cost of article be 450 (which gives raw material 150 and wages 300)

Now Increased raw material will be

=> increased raw material = (7/3)*150 = 350

Now Increased wage will be

=> increased wage = (9/4)*300 = 675

Increased cost = 675 + 350 = 1025

So increase is from 450 to 1025 increase from 18 can be found out by :-

=>(450*18)/1025

=>Rs 41
