When we ingest the food in our mouth Salivary Amylase started to breaking down that complex food pieces into small sugar units. That is why when we chew something more then 30 times its started to give sweetish taste.

This Carbohydrates then go to the stomach through the esophagus and there Gastric Juices and other enzymes starts working and help body in further digestion.

Although if we talk about at cellular level then the Principal source of human body is ATP and ADP too. But In contrasting we used to define Carbohydrates as major source.

ATP and ADP stands for Adenosine triphosphate and Adenosine diphosphate respectively and these organic compound formed after a proper digestion in the Power house of the cell - Mitochondria.
