The answer is crude oil.

The principal source of volatile organics (hydrocarbons) is crude oil. In crude oil, there is a lot of decomposed organic matter contains hydrogen and carbon in abundance. When they are made to bond, hydrocarbons are formed. Other key sources of natural hydrocarbons are coal, petroleum and natural gas.

The principal source of volatile organics (hydrocarbons) is an industrial process.

A hydrocarbon is an organic compound that consists of nothing but carbons and hydrogen. Depending upon the bonding between the carbon and hydrogen, hydrocarbons are classified as saturated and unsaturated hydrocarbons.

If the single bond is present in between carbon and hydrogen, those are called saturated hydrocarbons example: Alkanes. If the double or triple or both are present in between carbon and hydrogen then they are called unsaturated compounds.

Example: Alkenes and Alkynes.

These hydrocarbons are majorly produced by the industrial process like petrol refining and crude oil production.
