The printed price of an AC is 50000.

The wholesaler gives a discount of 10% to a dealer

=> Discount = (10/100)50000 = 5000 Rs

Selling Price before GST = 50000 - 5000 = 45000 Rs

GST = 15 %

SGST = CGST = GST/2 = 15/2 %

=> SGST = CGST = (15/200) * 45000 = 3375 Rs

dealer sells to a consumer at a discount of 5%

=> Discount = (5/100)50000 = 2500 Rs

Selling Price before GST = 50000 - 2500 = 47500 Rs

GST = 15 %

SGST = CGST = GST/2 = 15/2 %

=> SGST = CGST = (15/200) * 47500 = 3562.5 Rs

Amount paid by consumer = 47500 + 3562.5 + 3562.5 = 54625 Rs

the amount of tax (under GST) paid by the dealer to the Central and the State Governments = 3562.5 - 3375 = Rs 187.5 Each

the amount of tax received by Central and the State Governments. = 3562.5 Rs each

the total amount, inclusive of tax paid by the consumer = 54625 Rs
