Given :    probability of a new born baby blind is 2 in 10,000 & being deaf is 3 in 1 lakh

To Find :  probability that the child would be both blind & deaf

Solution:

A =   new born baby blind

P(A) = 2/10000

B = new born baby deaf

P(B) = 3/100000

probability that the child would be both blind & deaf = P ( A∩ B)

Both events are independent

P ( A∩ B) = P(A).P(B)

=   (2/10000 ) (3/100000)

= 6/1000000000

= 6 * 10⁻⁹

probability that the child would be both blind & deaf =  6 in 1 billion
