we know that, sum of the probability of any event is 1
so, probability of guessing correct ans + probability of not guessing correct ans = 1
i.e  x/3 + 5x/3 = 1
i.e. 6x/3 = 1
i.e. x = 1/2
therefore the value of x is 1/2
all the best for your exam...

Probability of guessing the correct answer : x/3

Probability of guessing the wrong answer : 5x/3

Probability of guessing any of the answer is 1 (a sure event)

According to data: (Since the sum of probabilities equals one)

x/3 + 5x/3 = 1

6x/3 = 1

x= 1/2

Hope it helps :)
