 \frac{x}{12}  +  \frac{3}{4}  = 1

 \frac{x}{12}  =  \frac{1}{1}  -  \frac{3}{4}

 \frac{x}{12}  =  \frac{4 - 3}{4}

 \frac{x}{12}  =  \frac{1}{4}

x =  \frac{12}{4}

x = 3
